Hi Tim, I’ve seen a draft of the final program and it lists the drum circle from 8-9pm on Friday, Nov. 13 in Exhibit Hall B.

Hi Kirsten, thank you for the question. This differs from the NMT training in that we will not be teaching specific interventions, only the Academy can do that. This CMTE is designed to provide additional information and resources regarding up to date research, intervention adaptation for different populations, musicianship within NMT, implementing NMT programs, and what the future holds for NMT. Kirsten, I’m so glad you are interested in this course! There are more specifics in the Preliminary Program Addendum (http://www.musictherapy.org/assets/1/13/Addendum_Preliminary_Program_9-25-15.pdf), including learner objectives and presenter biographies. I will also see if one of the presenters can elaborate on how this CMTE can build on what you learned in NMT training.
