The Theory & Practice of Neurologic Music Therapy

We met in Greece, walked the Parthenon trail together. We talked about Neurologic Music Therapy and what it could do to help people optimize recoveries. We discussed ways that we could work together to bring this to fruition. And we looked at the amazing view across Athens from that ancient temple.
In this CMTE, we will bring to you the advancement of this conversation 5 years out. We will offer you our passion for the topic, our knowledge and experience of utilizing NMT techniques in a variety of populations. Come join us for an engaging day of dialogue covering current research, program implementation and the future Neurologic Music Therapy.
This differs from the NMT training in that we will not be teaching specific interventions; only the Academy can do that. This CMTE is designed to provide additional information and resources regarding up to date research, intervention adaptation for different populations, musicianship within NMT, implementing NMT programs, and what the future holds for NMT

There are more specifics in the Preliminary Program Addendum (http://www.musictherapy.org/assets/1/13/Addendum_Preliminary_Program_9-25-15.pdf), including learner objectives and presenter biographies. I will also see if one of the presenters can elaborate on how this CMTE can build on what you learned in NMT training.
